I bought these oblong tomatoes the other day at the grocer's.  I don't like buying veggies out of season but frankly was fed up with the usual cabbage, potatoes, broccoli and caulifower.  I've made soup out of all of those and they're coming out of my ears. These tomatoes don't taste like much but at least they have a nice color.

Ho comprato questi pomodori lunghi l'altro giorno dal fruttivendolo.  Non mi piace comprare la verdura fuori stagione me ero veramente stanca del solito cavolo, patate, broccoli e cavolfiore.  Ho fatto vellutate di tutti questi e francamente mi stanno uscendo dalle orecchie.  Questi pomodori non sanno di granchè ma almeno hanno un bel colore.


"Blue Glass and Orange"

I really like the transparency of the blue glass and its' contrast with the orange.  I think I'll paint that glass again soon.

Mi piace molto la trasparenza del bicchiere blu ed il suo contrasto con l'arancia.  Penso di dipingere quel bicchiere ancora, presto.


"Two Lemons"

As I sat down this morning, I started to discard the old fruit around the easle.  Many onions had been sprouting, a mandarine had started to mold.  I saw these old lemons, they're starting to dry out.  I liked their roundess.

Mi sono seduta al cavalletto stamattina ed ho iniziato a buttare via la frutta vecchia che era intorno.  Molte cipolle avevano spuntato ed un mandarino era amuffito.  Ho visto questi limoni vecchi, stanno iniziando a seccarsi.  Mi piaceva la loro rotondità.

I sat down at the easle after lunch, trying to take advantage of the afternoon's sun.  I had to be very quick eventhough the days are getting slightly longer.  

Mi sono seduta davanti al cavalletto dopo pranzo cercando di sfruttare il sole del pomeriggio.  Ho dovuto dipingere velocemente anche se le giornate stanno diventando leggermente più lunghe.
